Sport clam and oyster seasons on public tidelands

Action: The sport clam and oyster fishing seasons will be open or closed for the three public beaches identified below, based on results from population, harvest and effort assessments.

Effective Dates: Sept. 1, 2017 until further notice

Species affected: All clams and oysters

Locations: Fort Flagler State Park, Indian Island County Park/Lagoon Beach, and Port Gamble Heritage Park Tidelands.

Reason for action: Clam and oyster biomass at Fort Flagler State Park, Indian Island County Park/Lagoon Beach and Port Gamble Heritage Park Tidelands will support longer seasons.

Other information: The following are the proposed openings and closings for the identified beaches:

Fort Flagler State Park: Open until further notice.

Indian Island County Park/Lagoon Beach: Open through Sept. 30 only.

Port Gamble Heritage Park Tidelands: Open until further notice.
