Sport clam season extended at Fort Flagler State Park

Action: The sport clam fishing season at Fort Flagler State Park, including that portion of the spit west of the Park boundary (Rat Island), is opened April 1, 2006 through July 15, 2006.

Effective date: April 1, 2006 through July 15, 2006

Species affected: All clams except razor clams.

Location: Fort Flagler State Park, located in Jefferson County.

Reason for action: Surveys show that the clam population at Fort Flagler State Park has increased, and can support a longer sport clam season.
