Recreational halibut fishing reopens in
Neah Bay and LaPush

Action: Marine Areas 3 and 4 will reopen for one day of halibut fishing; anglers may fish for, retain, possess and land Pacific halibut taken in Marine Areas 3 and 4.

Effective dates: 12:01 a.m.-11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2007

Species affected: Pacific halibut

Location: Marine Fish Catch Areas 3 and 4

Reasons for action: There is sufficient halibut quota to reopen the North Coast (Neah Bay and LaPush) recreational halibut fishery for one day only.

Other information: Bottomfish fishing will remain open in Marine Areas 3 and 4. There is a 20-fathom depth restriction in place in Areas 3 and 4 through September 30, 2007. Anglers may not fish for, retain, possess or land any rockfish or lingcod caught seaward of a line approximating 20 fms offshore, except on days that halibut fishing is open.
