Sport Halibut season to re-open in Marine Areas 3 and 4

Action: Open recreational fishing for halibut in Marine Areas 3 and 4.

Effective date: Open 12:01 a.m. through 11:59 p.m., Saturday, June 14 and Saturday, June 21, in Marine Areas 3 and 4 at all depths. Open 12:01 a.m. through 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 19, in Marine Area 3 and 4 shoreward of a line approximating 30 fathoms from the Bonilla-Tatoosh line south to the Queets River; Marine Area 4 open June 17 and 19 east of the Bonilla-Tatoosh line at all depths.

Species affected: Pacific halibut.

Location: June 14 and 21, open at all depths in Marine areas 3 and 4. June 17 and 19, Marine Areas 3 and 4 open shoreward of a line approximating 30 fathoms from the Bonilla-Tatoosh line south to the Queets River as described by the coordinates below, and Marine Area 4 east of the Bonilla-Tatoosh line is open at all depths. Halibut and bottomfishing remains closed at all times in the "C" shaped closure located on the north coast.

Reason for action: This rule conforms to federal action taken by Pacific Fishery Management Council. There is sufficient recreational quota to provide for these fishing days.
