Spring Chinook fishing to open on the Quillayute and Sol Duc rivers

Action: Opens salmon fishing seasons on the Quillayute and Sol Duc rivers.

Effective date: May 1 through July 31, 2021.

Species affected: Salmon.

Locations:

Quillayute River: from Olympic National Park boundary upstream to confluence of Sol Duc and Bogachiel.

Sol Duc River: from the mouth to the concrete pump station at the Sol Duc Hatchery.

Rules:

Min. size 12". Daily limit four. No more than two adults may be retained. Release wild adult Chinook, wild adult coho, and all sockeye salmon.

One single point barbless hook allowed.

Bait prohibited on the Sol Duc, July 16 through 31.

Reason for action: Allows sport harvest opportunity for hatchery spring Chinook as agreed to under the 2021 co-management Harvest Agreement for spring and summer salmon fisheries in the Quillayute River system.

Additional information: Gamefish seasons are open as described in the fishing rules pamphlet. Fishing from a boat is allowed. Bait is allowed on the Quillayute and allowed on the Sol Duc through July 15.
