Wenatchee River closes
Actions: Close salmon fishing on the Wenatchee River (Chelan Co.).
Effective dates: Closes one hour after official sunset on July 31, 2014.
Effective locations:
(1) Wenatchee River: From the Washington State Parks foot bridge at Confluence Park (just upstream from the confluence with the Columbia River) to 400 feet below Dryden Dam.
(2) Wenatchee River: From the confluence with Peshastin Creek and from that point to a line perpendicular with the river to the opposite river bank (approximately 1,000 feet above Dryden Dam). Then to the downstream point of the confluence with the Icicle River and from that point to a line perpendicular with the Wenatchee River to the marker on the opposite river bank.
Reason for action: The spring chinook run has ended in this portion of the Wenatchee River. The summer chinook season will begin August 1, 2014, and the rules for the summer chinook fishery differ from the rules for the spring chinook fishery. See pamphlet and Fishing Rule Change for summer chinook seasons beginning August 1, 2014 in the Wenatchee River.
