Steelhead fishing rule change on the Cowlitz River

Action: Allow retention of steelhead with a clipped right ventral fin and a healed scar at the location of the clipped fin

Effective dates: Feb 13, 2010.

Species affected: Late winter steelhead.

Location: Cowlitz River from boundary markers at the mouth to Mayfield Dam.

Reasons for action: Right ventral fin marked steelhead are surplus to broodstock needs.


Other information: Right ventral marked steelhead are no longer being released in the upper Cowlitz basin.
