Temporary Snoqualmie River fishing closure

October 30, 2024

Action: Closes all fishing.

Effective dates: Nov. 1 until further notice.

Species affected: All species.

Location: Snoqualmie River (Snohomish County) from mouth to Snoqualmie Falls, including all tributaries.

Reason for action: Snohomish basin Chinook salmon are nearing the end of their spawning run but still risk incidental sport fishery encounters in the Snoqualmie River. This closure is temporary and expected to be lifted once Chinook have cleared spawning grounds in the river.

Additional information: Anglers are encouraged to sign up for Fishing Rule Change email notifications and to check for emergency rules on the WDFW website prior to fishing.

Information contact:  Fish Program, (360) 902-2700.

Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the fishery. Check the WDFW "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on definitions and regulations. Fishing rules are subject to change. Visit wdfw.wa.gov/fishing-hotlines to find a list of mobile, web, print, or customer service phone options for the latest rule information.
