Toutle, North Fork Toutle, and Green River (Cowlitz County) return to permanent rules

November 14, 2023

Action: Returns fishing seasons to those listed in the 2023/24 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.

Effective date: Nov. 15, 2023.

Species affected: All species.

Location:

Toutle, North Fork Toutle, and Green rivers (Cowlitz County):

Reason for action: Returning fisheries in these rivers to permanent rules is justified now that fall Chinook broodstock collection at the North Toutle Hatchery has completed for the season. Previous low water conditions in the Green River have improved to acceptable levels in the reach from the mouth to the hatchery, allowing for improved spawning activity and fish movement upstream.

Additional information: Anglers should continue to check emergency regulations for new and changing seasons or sign up for email notifications on any rule change at https://wdfw.wa.gov/about/lists. In addition, anglers are reminded to refer to the 2023/2024 Washington Sport Fishing Rules Pamphlet for other rules and regulations.
