Trout daily limit increased at Swift Reservoir;
modified landlocked salmon rules to be in effect

Action: Anglers may keep up to 10 trout per day but must release salmon larger than 15 inches in length at Swift Reservoir.

Effective dates: Aug. 8 through Nov. 30, 2012

Species affected: Trout and salmon

Location: From Swift Dam to Eagle Cliff Bridge.

Reason for action: Planted hatchery rainbow trout are available for harvest.

Now that the juvenile collector is being put in place, returning mature coho are going to be released into the upper watershed this fall for reintroduction purposes. The modified landlocked lake rules will prohibit harvest and allow these fish to spawn.

Other information: Daily limit will be 10 trout (except closed to fishing for bull trout). Landlocked rules will be in effect (salmon count towards the trout daily limit); however, all salmon larger than 15 inches must be released. Selective gear rules will remain in effect from markers approximately 3/8 mile below Eagle Cliff Bridge to the bridge.
