Action: Opens to fishing under the rules listed in the Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet the upper segments of the Quillayute System tributaries (Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Calawah, and Dickey) and the Clearwater on the Queets System.
Effective date: 12:01 a.m., Sept. 17, 2015.
Species affected: All species.
Location:
Quillayute System:
The East and West Forks Dickey River upstream of their confluence, and Thunder Creek, tributary.
The Bogachiel River upstream of the Highway 101 bridge to the Olympic National Park boundary, and Bear Creek, tributary.
The Calawah River upstream of the Highway 101 bridge, the North Fork Calawah, the South Fork Calawah to the Olympic National Park boundary, and the Sitkum River, tributary.
The Sol Duc River upstream of the concrete pump station at the Sol Duc Hatchery to the Olympic National Park boundary, and Beaver and Bear Creeks, tributaries.
Queets System:
The Clearwater River upstream of the Snahapish River, and the Snahapish and Solleks rivers.
Matheny Creek outside Olympic National Park, a tributary to the Queets River.
Reason for action: These reaches were closed to protect fish during unusually low water conditions. Recent rains and cooling temperatures have increased water levels, allowing fish to move more freely upriver and alleviating the need for additional protection.
Information contact: Mike Gross, (360) 249-1210, or David Low, (360) 249-1216.
