Vance Creek Pond #1 will open for fishing to juveniles,
seniors and holders of a disability license
Action: Open Vance Creek Pond #1 to fishing by juveniles (under 15 years old), seniors (70 years of age and older), anglers with a disability who have a Department of Fish and Wildlife reduced-fee license or designated harvester cards only.
Effective dates: March 26 through April 10, 2011.
Species affected: Trout and other game fish.
Location: Vance Creek Pond #1, Grays Harbor County.
Reasons for action: The opener will allow additional fishing opportunity for juveniles, seniors, and holders of a Department of Fish and Wildlife disability license during the local school districts' spring break. Vance Creek Pond # 1 is an "Opening Day" lake with juvenile, senior, and disabled regulations, and will re-open the last Saturday in April.
Other information: Area open to fishing March 26 through April 10 in Pond #1 only. Vance Creek Pond #2, west of Pond #1, will remain closed until the regularly scheduled lowland trout opener on the last Saturday in April.
