Youth-only Mill Pond will open
to fishing by senior citizens

Action: Temporarily suspend the juvenile-only fishing regulation at Mill Pond near Auburn on June 12, 2004, to allow citizens 55 years of age and older to participate in a fishing derby sponsored by the Green River Steelhead and Trout Club and the City of Auburn.

Effective dates: 12:01 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. June 12, 2004

Species affected: Rainbow Trout

Location: Mill Pond, King County (near the City of Auburn)

Reason for action: WDFW regulations stipulate that only juveniles under the age of 15 may fish at Mill Pond. In order to hold the fishing derby and for citizens 55 years of age and older to legally fish Mill Pond a temporary rule change needs to occur.
