Lake Ellen is open year-round, and is located fourteen miles north of Inchelium, at 2300 feet elevation in the Colville National Forest. This lake was rehabilitated in fall 2008 to remove illegally introduced warmwater species, which have been illegally reintroduced and are present in the lake again. Catchable Rainbow Trout are planted each spring to carry the fishery, which is greatly hindered by competition from overabundant and stunted warmwater species. Fishing for all species is only fair. A developed U.S. Forest Service campground is available.
