Beaver Creek access area in Wahkiakum County will close for construction work Aug. 7-14

RIDGEFIELD – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) will close the Beaver Creek Access on the Elochoman River in Wahkiakum County Aug. 7-14.

The site will be closed to ensure public safety during construction work to remodel the Beaver Creek Hatchery intake. Contractors will use the water access area for staging. The Upper Elochoman Access, located about 1.1 miles upstream, will remain open during construction.

WDFW manages approximately 1 million acres of land and 500 water access areas across the state that provide fish and wildlife habitat, as well as fishing, hunting, wildlife-viewing, and other outdoor activities for thousands of Washingtonians and visitors every year.
