OLYMPIA -- The Hoh River will close to sport chinook salmon fishing from 12:01 a.m. Monday (Aug. 11) through Aug. 31, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced today.

The closure is necessary so non-Indians will not exceed their share of the fish.

Anglers should check the 1997 Fishing in Washington regulations pamphlet for additional rules before fishing in the Hoh.
