Placid Lake is located in the northwest side of the Indian Heaven Wilderness. It is a beautiful lake planted annually with cutthroat fry. The lake is shallow around most of the shoreline, so wading works best if fishing from shore to access the deeper water. Float tubes work great too. This lake is easily accessible for day hiking and fishing. Lake is usually accessible by late May early June depending on snowmelt. Mosquitos can be quite bad until late summer.
Getting here:
Access to Placid Lake starts at the parking lot of the Placid Lake Trail #29. The trail is short easy walk through the woods to the lake, maybe a half mile.
