Hog Canyon Lake (Hog Lake)

Hog Canyon Lake, also known as Hog Lake. This lake opens to fishing the first Friday following Thanksgiving, giving anglers an alternative to the Black Friday shopping day.

The regulations have now changed allowing anglers to harvest 5 trout of any size daily throughout the open season.  Anglers should check the Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet for additional rules and season information.

Two-pole fishing is allowed

Good for ice fishing

Shoreline access: Good - Some areas of the lake shoreline are inaccessible because of cliffs. However much area is available for shoreline anglers accessing the lake from the WDFW access site and by the gated road leading to areas on the north end of the lake.

Fishing prospects calendar

Rainbow trout

Fishing success for Rainbow Trout is generally best in the spring when thousands of fish are stocked statewide, but they can be caught year-round in most waters with a little patience and persistence. Success remains high into June and gradually declines as water temperatures increase and fish move offshore to stay cool. Fish that escaped the spring harvest return to the nearshore areas in the fall as waters cool off. Some waters may also be stocked again in the fall further boosting catch rates.
