Friends of Fort Flagler and Fort Flagler State Park are excited to present a diverse array of activities for Earth Day this year, featuring their inaugural Earth Day fair. Join them in contributing to the preservation of their stunning park by volunteering a few hours of your time. Building on the success of previous years, they will continue to focus on removing invasive seagrasses from the local beach near the lower campground and cleaning the beaches of plastic debris.

Activities Celebrate Earth Day at Fort Flagler State Park 2024: 

Saturday, April 20th, 10 am – 2 pm: Earth Day Fair
The Earth Day fair promises an enriching experience with engaging presenters, informational booths, and fun activities tailored for kids. Visit with WDFW at the fair and learn more about native species and the marine environment!

Sunday, April 21st, 10 am – 2 pm: Invasive Seagrass Pull
Join the effort to preserve the ecological balance by participating in the removal of invasive seagrasses. This hands-on activity will take place on Sunday, providing an opportunity for volunteers to make a direct impact on the health of our coastal environment.

Sunday, April 21st, 12 pm – 4 pm: Beach Clean Up
Be part of the solution by contributing to the beach clean-up initiative. Help Friends of Fort Flagler maintain the pristine beauty of their shores by dedicating your Sunday afternoon for an hour or four hours to removing plastic and other debris. Your action will contribute to the overall well-being of the coastal ecosystem.
