Deer are among the most familiar wildlife of Washington and are a common sight in forests and meadows, on farmlands, and in neighborhoods throughout the state.

These animals are valued for wildlife watching and photography, as well as hunting. However, as human populations overlap with deer habitat, conflicts between people and deer are becoming more of a concern.

WDFW and the City of Port Townsend will discuss living with deer at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Port Townsend Public Library, 220 Lawrence St. The presentation will cover Washington’s deer species, general biology, preventing conflict, and coexisting with wildlife. Come and meet us!

A black-tailed doe stands on grass with two fawns, one on each side of her. Part of a house and a few garbage containers are in the background.
