The Puget Sound Recreational Fisheries Enhancement Fund (PSRFEF) Oversight Committee was created in 2003 by the legislature (RCW 77.105.160). The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) select +7 individuals to serve on the PSRFEF Oversight Committee on a two-year term to meet quarterly.
PSRFEF Oversight Committee has the following duties:
- Advise the department on all aspects of the Puget Sound recreational fisheries enhancement program;
- Review and provide guidance on the annual budget for the recreational fisheries enhancement account;
- Select a chair of the committee. It is the chair's duty to coordinate with the department on all issues related to the Puget Sound recreational fisheries enhancement program;
- Meet at least quarterly with the department's coordinator of the Puget Sound recreational fisheries enhancement program;
- Review and comment on program documents and proposed production of salmon and other species; and
- Address other issues related to the purposes of the Puget Sound recreational fisheries enhancement program that are of interest to recreational fishers in Puget Sound.
This advisory committee will not create rules or policies; but will provide insight and recommendations to the Director and the Assistant Director, Fish Program.
At the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, we celebrate diverse individuals who bring a wide range of perspectives. All are welcome to participate in our processes regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, and basis of disability.
