The Shillapoo Habitat and Reconnection Project – South (SHARPS) Working Group will help inform the development of a potential habitat restoration project on the Shillapoo Wildlife Area. Members will share their diverse perspectives and work collaboratively to explore options, identify shared goals, and develop consensus recommendations.
Members were selected based on their experience and knowledge related to waterfowl hunting, outdoor recreation, agriculture, conservation, salmon recovery, and related topics. WDFW staff will participate as ex-officio members. Tribes, local governments, and other partners were also invited to participate.
Working group members are expected to:
- Attend approximately six in-person meetings from January 2026 through March 2027.
- Engage broader communities of interest and represent those perspectives in discussions.
- Provide objective input based on their experience and community connections.
- Communicate effectively and stay informed on issues relevant to the project.
At the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, we celebrate diverse individuals who bring a wide range of perspectives. All are welcome to participate in our processes regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, and basis of disability.
