Website accessibility statement

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) wants everyone to be able to use wdfw.wa.gov with ease. For example, actions that everyone should be able to do include:

  • Navigate the website using a keyboard
  • Change the font size or zoom in up to 300% without text overlapping
  • Navigate and read the website using a screen reader
  • Use the website on a mobile device
  • Understand, fill out, and submit forms

Conformance status

Our goal is to make this website accessible in accordance with OCIO Accessibility Policy 188. The wdfw.wa.gov website content partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we are actively working toward full conformance.

Known accessibility issues

  • Most PDFs do not conform with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Some interactive maps and data visualizations created in third party applications do not fully conform with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines for keyboard, color-contrast, or use of color.

  • Improve our development workflows to ensure accessibility requirements are followed for new development and implementation
  • Improve our web content workflows to ensure that accessibility requirements are followed for all published content
  • Increase team training and collaboration to grow expertise and provide resources for staff who create and update web content
  • Provide direct feedback options for website visitors to report accessibility barriers
  • Regularly testing our website with participants with disabilities
