Willapa Bay Salmon Advisory Group

This advisory group has been disbanded or is no longer active.

The Willapa Bay Salmon Advisory Group recommends actions to WDFW designed to support sustainable fishing opportunities for Willapa Bay while conserving wild runs. WDFW formed the group to provide recommendations on setting commercial and recreational salmon seasons.

The group is comprised of 13 members, who generally meet in March and April for the North of Falcon salmon season setting process.  In addition, Willapa Bay advisors will be asked to provide input on in-season adaptive management actions in order to ensure conservation and management objectives are met.  The advisors will also be asked to review materials and provide input as to the format and relevant data to be included on the review of the Willapa Bay Salmon Management Policy (C-3622) that will be presented to the Fish and Wildlife Commission during the fall of 2018.

The Willapa Bay Salmon Advisory Group meetings are open to the public.

At the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, we celebrate diverse individuals who bring a wide range of perspectives. All are welcome to participate in our processes regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, and basis of disability.
